Volunteer Opportunities


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Pride Program - This program is designed for children ranging in age from 6 – 16
and provides homework assistance as well as tutorial services,
nutritional snacks, field trips, arts and crafts and a summer
enrichment program for youth. In addition, youth are able to
volunteer and work as mentors and teaching assistants in the
program throughout the year.
(After school Monday – Friday 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Summer: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
M.Y.E.E.P (Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program)
MYEEP provides youth career guidance and exploration in
addition to offering exposure to the real world of employment.
M.Y.E.E.P. services youth 14 to 19 years old. and cultivates the
correlation between school and work.
(Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 6:00 p.m.)
Senior Program – Provides seniors with opportunity for recreation and socialization.
Seniors can participate in various activities like line dancing, Tai
Chi, Bingo and Spiritual Discussion.
(Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 2:00 p.m.)
Food Pantry - Provides needy individuals in the community with groceries.
(Thursday – 11:00 – 1:00 pm)
Multipurpose room - The center rents to individuals and groups for private or public
events and functions. The center also sponsors community
meetings and activities of a community and public service nature.

Project 20 - The center is apart of the Project 20 program which allows
individuals assigned to community service for various
misdemeanor and traffic infractions to work their fines off in the
community. (Hours by arrangement)
Hip Hop Clinic - This youth health clinic provides check ups, shots for children,
referrals, counseling, sports physicals, family planning, mental
health and HIV testing. (Friday 10:00 am – 6:00 p.m.)
Wellness Clinic - Free health screenings and referrals for adults.
(Wednesday 10:00 am – 2:00 p.m.)
